Luttrell Psalter
Medieval Colouring Book

The Luttrell Psalter is one of the most beautiful Medieval manuscripts. It was created early 14th Century. Every image in the book was taken from the Luttrell Psalter and every black and white image is accompanied by the original image in colour. The colouring book is designed to be easy to colour. But those who may be more artistic can colour and add their own embellishments. The images are taken from marginalia. You will notice the variety of embellishments that were used by the illustrators. Enjoy yourself and if you do an image that you feel is a standout please email me a copy.
The book is available at:         https://www.amazon.com/dp/1095406728        $9.99

A Scribe With A Sense Of Humour

I think the scribe (illustrator) decided to have some fun with this knight and dragon. If you look closely this drawing presents one anomaly after the other:

a) The dragon has a broken spear through the head. Who speared the dragon? The Crusader knight has the reins in one hand and a sword in the other. The proportion and attachment of the right arm are completely wrong perhaps indicating another knight we just can't see.

b) The dragon tail is really strange. It appears there is a segment of the tail that is actually not attached to anything. Trace the tail along it's length.
c) It appears the horse has two forelegs but an extra rear end with one leg only and a clover for a tail. But only one tail such as it is.
d) The penis has a distinctive human look. It's definitely not a horse penis.
e) The very long spur on the left foot will clearly cause serious injury to the horse. No need to spell it out.
f) The horse head is way out of proportion.
